Adult Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Colorado Springs Teen Court! This program could not succeed without the dedication and support of its volunteers. We are always looking for adult volunteers to act as case managers for Peer Panels as well as attorneys to act as mentors for the student attorneys at Trials. If you are a business owner, retail store manager, or loss prevention specialist, you might also be interested in volunteering on our Community Impact Panels.

The primary mission of Teen Court is to use the positive power of peer influence to stop criminal behavior at the earliest stage using the concepts of Restorative Justice. The Peer Panel process was built around this idea. Teen Court conducts Peer Panels on scheduled Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Volunteers are primarily needed on Peer Panel nights since there are usually 10 to 30 cases scheduled to be seen and sentenced by the panels. Each panel consists of 3-6 student volunteers plus one adult case manager.

Any adult 18 years of age or older interested in becoming a case manager is welcome to observe a few panels before participating. A background check conducted by an outside agency IS REQUIRED for all adults volunteering with Teen Court. A fee of $25.00 must be paid to Teen Court to process the background check. Please fill out the Criminal Records and Background Release form at the end of this application and submit it to Teen Court.

Be sure to complete the Adult Volunteer Application (which includes the background check) if you are interested in becoming a regular volunteer so that we have your contact information.
